シリーズ最新作『ポケットモンスター ソード・シールド』の開発人数は1000人以上になることが明らかになった。

gameinformerのインタビューで大森滋ディレクターはこのように説明した。

・3DS『サン・ムーン』を制作した中心チームの人員が今では倍になった

アウトソーシングや外部の開発会社、各地域のローカライズチームも増えており、推定1000人以上の名前がクレジットされると予想される。
