Q: Nick Schollar - In the UK we have "Community Notice Boards" in residential areas,
often maintained by the parish or district council or the residents' association.
I think these make good portals but that's a heavily debated topic on the OPR chat and about half the notice boards I submit get approved.
Does NIA think these are eligible to become portals?
A: They do hold the function of being community gathering places.
But like many things, it is likely to be very situational.
They should follow the same guidelines as the Little Free Libraries.
